Allnewsround claims to pay you $2 per news article read. Some people have already
“earned” hundreds of dollars within the site. The “make money online”
community is abuzz with talk of this brand new site. But be careful—this
is probably a scam. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
We don’t have proof yet, though. This company has only been around for a
few weeks. I’ve read accounts from people online saying they’ve already
met the minimum $100 payout and requested it; payouts come within 14
days, so the site’s too young for us to know definitively that it does
not pay. No one, however, has yet confirmed that they have been paid.
It would be so, so exciting if it weren’t a scam, but it seems that it
simply must be. Getting paid $2 per article read and $9 for each
referral just doesn’t happen. Also, the site looks like a mess and is
written in very poor English. Its contact info looks a bit questionable
too.
People online are guessing that it’s an elaborate phishing scam—since a
lot of people are dumb enough to use the same password for everything,
odds are that some people will use the same password for the site that
they use with their PayPal account and associated email address.
For now, steer clear of this site. I know I will until it’s been around a
long time and people can prove that they’ve been paid. I’m not counting
on that happening, though. It just sounds too good to be true.
